The look

Ready for the Farmers Market: A recent photo.

Canyon, Texas is a small university town near Amarillo, Texas and Palo Duro Canyon State Park in the Texas Panhandle. Its renovated 1909 courthouse is the backdrop for the farmers market and our booth.

The courthouse square is alive; an active place. And, especially so early Saturday morning when Smiling Coyote, along with our other vendors, is setting it up for market.

Look for the Smiling Coyote!

This is "the look"

Keeping and Storing: Herbs and Spices

Enjoy!

We stand with Alice Waters and Jacques Pépin.

Short and to the point: It's not really the "fast food mentality" we're celebrating by gardening, farming, and participating in farmers markets. We're not a part of the culture where standards, and expectations, are consistently lowered in a flight to rock bottom. We believe cooking isn't a competition--isn't confrontational and neither is learning about food, its production, or preparation. ~ Smiling Coyote Farm.

Spring Prep

Yes, it's February: Cold, dry, February. But, things are stirring at Smiling Coyote Farm.

Seeds are starting in flats, prep for planting is underway, planning is ongoing, and the Spring garden season is just around the corner. Our first Farmers Market meeting is the end of the month. It's time to get moving.

We'll be publishing our plant list soon. If you have a suggestion or request, let us know so we can get it in the ground for you.
